Abstract:Erdengyan nature reserve of musk deer and macaque, and classed as provincial grade, is located in Enshi of Hubei province. In the nature reserve, there are 504 species, 309 genera and 121 families of vascular plants, including 6 national rare and endangered plants. The floristic components are complex, according to geographical distribution of vascular genera, 14 types of geographical elements exist, with 144 temperate genera, 115 tropical genera. That is to say, the flora is a distinct transitional nature from tropical zone to the temperate zone. The origin of the flora is very ancient for existing of the ancient, multi-carpel plants. In the nature reserve, there are 5 vegetative types: evergreen broad-leaved forest, deciduous broad-leaved forest,evergreen coniferous forest,shrubbery and bamboo forest. The diversity of flora in the nature reserve provides a suitable habitat for musk deer and macaque.
