Progeny test forest over elite family of Cunninghamia laceolata (Lamb.) Hook.shows that each family exist great differences beginning from seedling stage. There are 16 families with great differences among the tested 55 families compared with control plot, however, it is infeasible to eliminate through clones; while it is feasible to select in early stage with annual limitation at least 6 years above based on related analysis about tree height growth and year; result shows that the tree height and DBH among the families have great differences according to equation analysis on actual tested data over the tree height and DBH during 16 years affrostation. There are 11 families reached obvious differences with both tree height and DBH at the sanme time accounting for 20% among the tested families; what 11 families selected can be used as materials for establishing the second generation plot for Cunninghamia laceolata and also can be improved materials for extension and application.
