Abstract:Abstracts:The distribution and quantity of flowers in trees crown in Larix kaempferi seed orchard were investigated and analyzed. The results showed that there was significant difference in the distribution of male cones between vertical layers, and the quantity of male cone in lower layer and middle layer accounting for 83.39% of the total were larger than that of upper layer; the quantity of male cones in southern part was the largest in all horizontal direction. It also showed that the female cones were distributed mostly at the upper part and middle part of crown, and the southern part yielded the most female cone. However, the difference in the distribution of female cones in the varied parts of crown was non-significant, whether between the vertical layers or the horizontal parts. The oneyearold branches of Larix Kaempferi did not produce cones in general, and there were only male cones in twoyearold branches. There were both male and female cones in threefive years old branches. Most of female cones growed in branches of three and four years. Nevertheless, the male cones comed into being in branches of two and three years. There was significant difference in the quantity of female cones and male cones. In general, number 356 yielded more cones than others.
