Abstract:Abstracts:A field pot experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of different fertilizer amount on the yield and quality of 15 years old Chinese chestnut. The results showed that the weight of 100 seeds increased significantly under the fertilizer application compared to that under no fertilizer. With the increasing amount of fertilizer, the weight of 100 seeds showed an increasing trend, which reached up to 1452 g, while the differences among fertilization treatments were not significant. The average yield per plant also reached the maximum of 9.95kg under the largest amount of fertilizer, but the difference between the treatment and secondary amount of fertilizer treatment was not significant. Under different amount of fertilizer, the percentage of reducing sugar of chestnut was 3%~5%, protein 6%~8%, and starch 24%~26%. Although the percentages of chestnut reducing sugar, protein and starch content had no significant differences under different fertilizer amount, the chestnut contained relatively high protein while relatively low starch under the maximum amount of fertilizer. So it indicated that the quality of chestnut could be improved in some extent with the increasing amount of fertilizer.
