Abstract:Abstract:Forest stability can comprehensively reflect the structural and functional characteristics of forest communities and is a foundation of formulating forest management project. A evaluation index system of the protection forest stability was established which consisted of 16 indices selected with Delphi method from 5 aspects, such as succession stability, resistance stability, resilience stability, function stability, environmental stability. The weights of index were determined through calculating the proportion of each index standard deviation to sum standard deviation of all indices with the surveyed data of 157 samples plots in 9 forest types. Based on the forest resources survey data, the protection forest stability in Zigui county was evaluated. The results showed that ①The evaluation index system of forest stability established by this study can objectively reflect the protection forest stability with the forest resources survey data, and is suitable for extending its application in forest community stability evaluation;②Over two thirds of protection forests in Zigui county had average stability degree index higher than 0.4, and about 10 percent of protection forests owned average stability degree index lower than 0.3;③The average stability degree index of broadleaf mixed forest was the highest (0.558) in all of forest types, followed by coniferous deciduous mixed forest (0.545), shrubbery (0.510), coniferous mixed forest (0.473), Masson pine pure forest (0.427), broad-leaved pure forest (0.403), other coniferous pure forest (0.341) and non timber product forest (0.324),and cypress forest (0.307) had the lowest stability degree index.
