Abstract:Abstracts:The paper studied soil chemical properties of bamboo and broad leaved mixed forest through determination of soil organic matter, total nitrogen, hydrolysable nitrogen, available phosphorus and available potassium content, soil pH value index. The results showed that A,B,Cthree types (bamboo and deciduous broadleaf mixed) had better soil quality, whose soil organic substance in 0~40 cm depth, total nitrogen, hydrolysable nitrogen, available phosphorus, available potassium and pH value were 29.6%,9.1%,10.4%,31.7%,26.8% and 3.9%,higher than those in pure Phyllostachys pubescens forest. So their nutrient status improved significantly with greatly improved soil fertility.Bamboo and evergreen broadleaf mixed and pure Phyllostachys pubescens forest had worse soil quality and tended to be the same. Therefore, suitable mixture of bamboo and broadleaf trees were good for the maintenance of soil fertility.
