Abstract:Abstracts:In order to know the amphibians and reptiles animal resources and promote the construction and management of Guangdong Gutian Provincial Nature Reserve.A preliminary survey in the Nature Reserve was carried out during March to October in 2011. In the survey 52 species belonging to 13 families of three orders were recorded by means of collection, observation or interview with the local people. Specifically, there are 14 amphibian species belonging to four families in one order, and 38 reptile species belonging to nine families in two orders. There are 41 species of the all 52 species belonging to Fujian and Guangdong sub regions of South China region and oriental realm, which occupying 78.85 percent, Additionally, we observe Rana longicrus as a new record of amphibians in Guangdong Province and three invasive species, Trachemys scripta elegans, Rana catesbeiana and Varanus bengalensis during this survey. Moreover, suggestions on the conservation and management of amphibians and reptiles in Guangdong Gutian Provincial Nature Reserve were proposed.
