Abstract:Abstract:Batrachium pekinense, which is an endangered aquatic perennial plant and endemic in Beijing in China, has been treated as first level protected wild plant in Beijing because of its rare population and endemic and special habitat.Though the populations in holotype area are almost disappeared, several populations are found in Songshan National Nature Reserve, which is the biggest distribution area now.In this study, the water environment of Beijing Songshan National Nature Reserve was investigated for the further protection of Batrachium pekinense. Our result showed that the water of all of streams could support the growth of Batrachium pekinense except that of Lanjiao Stream. Measures of prompt and efficient protection should be taken based on our results and other analysis including soil sediment, season and community characters.
