Abstract:Abstracts:Based on the field observation data and roots scaning photos,we studied the effects of Amorpha fruticosa root system on the slope soil and water conservation by analyzing the index data from root length, root length density, root volume and root content per soil unit. The result showed that A.fruticosa had the feature of deep and tap roots with main root as deep as 50 cm underground, and the fine roots with different diameter distributed in all of different soil levels, and the root length and root volume decreased with the soil level deepening. We concluded that the root system of A. fruticosa functions efficiently in soil reinforcement and soil erosion resistance of slope surface.
