Abstract:Abstract:This is the first report of the butterfly list of Taizi Mountain National Forest Park in Hubei. In order to know the butterfly resources of this Park, we identified 984 butterflies collected in zoology field practice which was carried out three times from 2013 to 2015, and analyzed the index of diversity, fauna composition and the evenness index, dominance index and species richness, etc. There were 6 families, 30 genera and 46 species of butterflies in this Park. We found 1 rare species in Hubei Province, 1 endemic species in East Asia, 4 special species in China, 2 vulnerable species and also 2 species with a high economic and ornamental value. The analysis results showed that it still had the obvious characteristics of the transition from Palaearctic to Oriental realmthough in this region the butterflies were slightly dominant by widely distributed species. In this park, Nymphalidae, Papilionidae butterfly had more advantage than Pieridae and others, and Satyridae and Lycaenidae butterflies were scarely, and the abundance of butterfly resources in this park was lower than that of other areas in Hubei Province.
