Abstract:As an important part of urban construction, park greenbelts play an important role in coordinating the man- agement of rainfall and flood. In this study, the canopy rainfall interception of 80common plants were measured and ana- lyzed. The results showed that the canopy rainfall interception of the same life form plants is different. canopy intercep- tion of some arbors, shrubs and herbs were higher than other plants, such as sabina chinensis,Eriobotrya japonica , cedrus deodara , Taxodium distichum , viburnum macrocephalum , Lonicera ligustrina , Rhododendron simsii, Hibiscus mutabilis , ophiopogon japonicas , coix lacryma-jobi, Typha orientalis, cyperus rotundus . The mean of canopy rainfall interception of different lifeform plants also showed great differences . coniferous trees had the highest mean of canopy rainfall inter- ception, while deciduous broadleaf trees had the lowest one . The information may be useful in further screening of green plants in wuhan park which have higher canopy rainfall interception and adapt to the local climate environment.
