Abstract:17-year-old Liriodendron chinense from Hongchun Forest Farm in Lichuan City as the research object, and conducts a preliminary study on its growth by stem analysis. The results showed that its height of 17 year-old tree was 15.5 m, DBH was 12.90 cm, and the volume per plant was 0.09091 m3; the average growth of tree height, DBH, and annual growth all appear to increase first and then decrease. At 15th year, the DHB and its height of the tree intersect with the average annual growth. Because the average volume growth did not intersect with the annual growth at 17th year, it indicated that the 17 year-old L. chinense was in a period of vigorous growth. Because the volume has not reached the maturity of the quantity, the harvesting age of it cannot be determined temporarily.
