Abstract:Based on recent mammalian taxonomy of China and international discoveries of mamma logy, we catalogued and analyzed mammal specimens in Wuhan Natural History Museum. Totally 1136 specimens, 232 species, belonging to 58 families, 17 orders were summarized. In the checklist of mammal specimens of Wuhan natural history museum, 173 alien species and 12 native species of China were displayed. The conservation status of all the specimens were also listed, according to the Wild Animals of National Priority Protection List, International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List, and Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora Appendix, showing 37 species of First-Grade State Protection, 19 species of Second-Grade Protection, 6 critically endangered species, 19 endangered species, one extinct in the wild species, 34 species appearing on CITES Appendix I, 41 species on appendix II, one species on appendix III.
