Abstract:Forest plays an important role in the "carbon peak , carbon neutral, goal by absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and fixing it into the carbon pool. In this study , the vegetation carbon storage and carbon density of the forest resources in Daye City were calculated using the volumn to biomass method based on the forest resource inventory data in 2019. The results showed that the carbon storage of existing forest in Daye was 114. 36×104t , and the average vegetation carbon density was23. 66t·hm- 2 . The areas with higher carbon storage were mainly distributed in the southern mountain area of Daye , and the shrub forest had the highest carbon storage , followed by Pinus massoniana forest. The average vege- tation carbon density of P. massoniana forest was the highest , reaching35. 64t·hm- 2 . The measurement results can pro- vide data basis and decision-making basis for the realization of the " carbon peak , carbon neutral, goal and the scientific management of forest resources in Daye City.
