Abstract:TaKing Liquidambar formosana secondary Forests as research object , analyzed its structure characteristics in the Dabie Mountain area oFHubei province , in order to provide a scientiFic basis For rational management. standard plots were set up in representative stands , and conventional standard plots were carried out. on this basis , the structural charac- teristics oFstands were analyzed. The results showed that the secondary Forest species composition was relatively rich , there were in total oF17Families , 24genera and 27tree species . In the upper Forest layer , L. formosana was the main tree species . In the middle Forest layer , L. formosana , cunninghamia lanceolata , Eucommia ulmoides and celtis sinensis were main tree species , and the middle Forest layer basically contains the whole Forest type tree species . The average DBH oF the upper , middle and lower layers were 19. 48~21. 71, 10. 16~11. 06, 6. 61~7. 69cm respectively. The upper Forest layer was the main contribution level oFthe total stand stocK, accounting For 50. 55%~82. 87% oFthe total stand stocK. The diameter class distribution oFthe upper Forest layer was mainly irregular multi-peaKcurve , the diameter class oFthe middle Forest layer was mainly concentrated in the range oF6~12cm , and the diameter class distribution oFthe lower Forest lay- er was inverted“J”distribution in ziyunzhai Forest Farm in Hong》an county. As long as natural and man-made disturb- ances were stopped , the Forest could carry on a sequential succession under the action oFnatural Forces .
