Abstract:Focuses on needle-broadleaved mixed forests in the eastern range of Daba Mountains, aiming to reveal the mi- croclimate characteristics of atypical needle-broadleaved mixed forest in the northern subtropics through the measurement and analysis of climatic factors . Based on the monitoring data of climatic factors such as air temperature, humidity, wind speed, precipitation, total solar radiation, photosynthetically active radiation, and soil temperature inside and outside the forest at the Hubei Daba Mountain Forest Ecosystem Research station, the microclimate characteristics of the needle- broadleaved mixed forest in the northwest of Hubei province were analyzed. The result showed that the air and soil tem- perature outside the forest were generally higher than those inside, except in winter . The total precipitation inside the for- est during the observation period was 839. 8 mm, while it was 1065. 8 mm outside the forest. The monthly average wind speed inside the forest was 0. 24m ● s—1 , while it was 1. 02m ● s—1 outside the forest, with the average monthly wind speed outside being significantly higher than the average monthly wind speed inside . Both total solar radiation and photo synthet- ically active radiation inside and outside the forest were higher in summer than in winter, with values inside the forest be- ing noticeably lower than outside . The experiment proved, the needle-broadleaved mixed forest in the Daba Mountains of Hubei province exhibited its own microclimate characteristics .
