Abstract:Forest health is a new industry that integrates forestry and health and wellness. In recent years, research on the development of the forest health industry and the function of forest health has received widespread attention, but most of the research has focused on natural forests with superior conditions, while research on urban forest recreation is relatively scarce. As an important part of urban ecosystems, urban forests have universal functions such as improving the urban environment, maintaining biodiversity, and promoting human health. However, due to the close proximity to the living areas of the residents and the serious interference from the activities of the residents, which affects the fulfillment of the recreation function, the potential and direction of the development of the urban forest recreation industry are still not clear at the present time. This paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of developing recreation industry in urban forests by summarizing the relevant theories of forest recreation and the status quo of industrial development, combining with the characteristics of urban forests, and looks forward to the future development and application prospects of urban forest recreation, with a view to providing guidance for the sustainable development of urban forestry.
