Effects of Freezing Disaster on Forest Carbon Pool and Post-disaster Recovery Methods

冰冻灾害在南方是一种不常见的自然灾害,一旦发生其往往对森林生态系统造成严重损害。通过对武汉及周边地区城市森林在2024年2月遭遇的严重冻雨冰雪灾害情况的初步调查,从灾后森林的受灾表现探讨此次灾害对森林生态系统碳库造成的直接影响和间接影响,并对森林植被的灾后恢复与重建提供科学可行的建议。

Abstract:

Freezing disaster is an infrequent natural disaster in southern China, but it often causes great damage to forest ecosystem. Based on the preliminary investigation of the urban forests in Wuhan and its surrounding areas after the severe freezing rain and ice disaster that encountered in February 2024, the direct and indirect impacts of the disaster on the carbon pool of forest ecosystem were discussed through the observed post-disaster performance of forests, and then scientific and feasible suggestions on the post-disaster recovery and reconstruction of forest vegetation were provided.
